An apple a day keeps the doctor away?

By seeing the question mark after the proverb, don't come to the conclusion that the health benefits of apple are questioned. Most of the fruits and vegetables are naturally nutritious and healthy to eat. But it's us who have spoilt the goodness of such fruits by showering poisonous pesticides on them. Many banned pesticides are still being used in many parts of the world. Unfortunately people consume it and undergo health problems which are far more worse than the good these fruits offer.
  So what to do? It's simple. Wash the fruits and vegetables as thoroughly as possible before cooking or eating them. Sometimes, even thorough washing leaves small but poisonous quantities of pesticides, thanks to the absorbing capability of fruits and vegetables. So, the best way to get rid of pesticides is to peel the skin off the fruits and vegetables before eating them.
  Do you want to hear even a better way to enjoy healthy fruits and vegetables? Grow them on your own if you can afford a little space for them. Search in internet and you will find a lot of tips on kitchen gardening. Since you have to spend some time on physical work, your body gets exercised and you get two mangoes with one stone!

The power of a smile

You would have probably heard about the famous saying 'Laughter is the best medicine'.  But you cannot be always laughing right? Some people would think that you have gone mad if you keep on laughing. Another similar but powerful way to be happy and keep others also happy is this: show a smile in your face whenever possible. Smile has the power to turn boring moments into energetic ones. Try smiling at a stranger and I bet she or he would smile back at you. Thus, smile can connect people and even create new relationships. Research shows that even a forced smile improves mood by rising happiness hormones level. So never forget to smile whenever you can!

Sleep

     The number one habit that is needed to get more productivity out of your life is to get enough sleep. Eating and sleeping are equally important processes required for the body to function in its full potential. By reducing sleep time, you might increase your working time, but you have to care about the quality of the work too.But, most importantly, your health comes first, and don't affect it by forgetting to sleep.
     Many have the problem of not going into sleep mode despite lying on the bed for hours. The main culprit for this problem is the entry of digital devices into our lifestyle. The light from the devices affect our eyes so much that they make our brain get confused with sleep patterns, and directly affects our body's internal sleep clock. It's nearly impossible to get rid of all digital devices, so make sure that you don't touch your mobile phones or tablets atleast for one hour before sleeping.
      If you feel tired despite sleeping for 7 or 8 hours a day, try this trick : Go to sleep exactly at the same time everyday. If you feel tired the next day, adjust your wake up time by plus or minus 15 minutes.For eg, if you sleep at 10 pm and wake up at 6 am feeling tired, the try waking up at 6:15 am or 5:45 am. If you still feel tired, try waking up at 6:30 or 5:30 am. Our sleep is made up of many cycles, and its important that you wake up in a less intensive part in a sleep cycle to feel less sleepy.
     Recent research suggests that our body is designed to go to sleep two times per day. So, its healthy to take a nap in the afternoon. The nap may last from 20-30 minutes. Any more than that will make you long for more sleeping time, and that may make you miss your classes or get you fired from your job. So keep an alarm for 20 minutes and wake up. You will feel very fresh and won't get sleepy during your afternoon session.
    

Learn to forget

Our brain has the capability to remember everything. We forget things because we shouldn't remember everything. Forgetting is a gift given by god.
  There are certain sorrowful events which we want to forget but we couldn't. If we want to forget something, we need to stop thinking about it again and again. If we want to stop thinking about it, we need to replace our mind with other thoughts that are stronger than the old ones.
   Travel to new places to forget the old ones. Find a new love to replace the love you had lost.
   Happiness and sadness always come in a cycle. But you have the choice to forget sadness and embrace happy moments.
   

Networking with nature

     Most of us are always surrounded by inventions of human beings and and not those of god, so in the 1440 minutes we have in a day, spend about 5 or 10 minutes to marvel at the creations of god. Go to a nearby park, and have a look at all those beautiful flowers, trees and animals around you. Enjoy the fresh breath of air that nature provides for free.
     For those of you who are not fortunate enough to have any natural scenery around you, take regular trips to villages and enjoy your time there. If you are a very busy one and don't have time to do such things, atleast do this thing: Press Ctrl+T to create a new tab in your browser, go to google image search and type something like 'amazing nature' or 'marvellous nature photos'. I am sure you will find a bit of happiness as you look at the frozen natural scenes!

Dance!

       Feeling very sluggish or sad? Dance! Feeling lonely? Dance! Don't have any work to do and feeling bored? Dance!
       Your body is always with your mind, so use it to transfer some energy to your mind.
       Are you one of those people like me who feel awkward to dance before others? That's where bathrooms and restrooms come to the rescue. Lock yourself up in a private room and dance till you drench yourself in sweat. Go, try it!

Hi friends!
          I am an young guy, who loves to help people as well as other living beings, and achieve happiness in doing so. I currently pursue a mechanical engineering degree in India, which is my mother country too. I try to understand the world as much as possible using my little intellect, and share what I have learnt during my life journey with the world. Through my eyes, I see the world as a united power, pushing aside all the things which separate the world like borders, religion, sex and other such things.
          Now let's come to the blog. The world keeps on improving on all aspects, except for one important thing. That's our inner self. Crimes keep on increasing, happiness levels are the same as it was some hundred years ago, and couples still fight with each other and so on.Whether we are rich or poor, lean or fat, black or white,if we learn to master our inner self, we can overcome everything and be happy, which should be the ultimate goal of life.
         In this blog, I share some insights that come to my mind, which are very simple but which I believe would be helpful, to learn to live a life of happiness. Though I am young and lack experience, I will definitely grow old and my experience too will grow with me. I will keep on posting as long as I live.
